We visited Bull Run back in April and really enjoyed it. It's close enough for a quick trip - which is exactly what we were looking for. We've been itching to get back in the trailer. We had a trip planned a few weeks ago to Greenville Farm Campground, but Jon ended up with a cold and we decided it wasn't worth it. We'll be heading there at some point!
One reason we love Bull Run is that there always seems to be availability. We called the Wednesday before the trip and were able to get a pull through, full hookup site (site 110).
Saturday, I had to work in the morning. After I was done, we headed to the trailer, hooked up, and got on the road. We pulled into Bull Run right around 1:30pm. Got checked in pretty quickly and headed in to the site. We should've come around the other direction to pull in easier, but that was on us. Oops! Lesson learned for next time.
We got all set up outside and then got to work on the inside. After we were done, we started working on installing the BAL stability pads we bought for the stabilizer jacks. Two of them fit with no modifications needed, the other two, we'll need to figure out.

The terrain was very flat. The only problem? It was WET. Several of the path bridges were washed out, making for some crazy footing and a lot of mosquitos. Even with the bug spray, we were getting eaten up. This was probably one of the most unpleasant "hikes" we've done.
So much standing water everywhere |
You can't see them all that well, but we were being watched by 2 deer |
Oh thank goodness! Now we can go back! |
How in the world are we supposed to get around that?! |
After our hike, we headed back to camp to relax for a bit.
Eventually, it was time to make dinner. I had prepped Chipotle Burgers at home and we just needed to grill them up. We also made some roasted baby red potatoes & grilled nectarines on the side. While we were making dinner, Jon made a fire so that we could enjoy it later.
